Alex’s Story
Alex Sample keeps a garden that outgrows its fence every June and a workshop where half the neighborhood’s chairs come back stronger than they left. Mornings start with coffee on the back step, a list that never quite gets finished, and a call to whichever kid picks up first.
These days Alex is writing it all down, one story at a time. The move to Cedar Falls, the first job that lasted a week, the marriage that has lasted decades. Friends and family add their own pieces, and the archive grows the way the garden does, a little past its edges, exactly as intended.
